Product Owner – AI & Automation (Contract)

Location: Hybrid

Duration: 6 Months (likely extension)

Day Rate: DOE (Inside IR35) or (Outside IR35)

 

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Product Owner with strong AI and automation experience to join a large-scale transformation environment. This role focuses on driving measurable business value by rethinking operational processes and leveraging AI, automation, and digital capabilities. You will work across a key value stream to shape the roadmap, prioritise delivery, and identify opportunities to improve customer experience and operational efficiency. A key part of the role is helping stakeholders move beyond current-state thinking and explore future-state solutions enabled by modern technology.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain product vision aligned to value stream strategy
  • Translate business and operational needs into a prioritised roadmap
  • Identify and shape AI and automation opportunities across customer and operational journeys
  • Manage and prioritise the backlog, balancing BAU, incidents, and strategic initiatives
  • Support experimentation and proof-of-concepts to validate val
  • Act as key interface between business, technology, and data teams
  • Drive delivery through close collaboration with engineering and the delivery team
  • Measure outcomes across efficiency, cost, and customer experience

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Mana
  • Strong background in AI, automation, or digital transformation
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Strong understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban, SA)
  • Ability to balance strategy with delivery in a complex environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on value delivery
  • Comfortable challenging existing processes and driving change

 

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in financial services or insurance experience
  • Exposure to the Microsoft Dynamics 365 environment
  • Experience with workflow automation or service transformation
  • Familiarity with cloud/data platforms (e.g. GCP or similar)
  • Experience working within value streams or large-scale change programs
