Job Overview
A leading organisation is seeking a Data & Insights Manager to lead a high-performing Data & Insights team, delivering trusted data, actionable insight and scalable reporting across the organisation.

Reporting to senior leadership, the successful candidate will combine people leadership, data strategy, delivery management and stakeholder engagement to ensure data and analytics capabilities support wider business objectives. The role will play a key part in shaping and delivering the organisation's Data & Digitalisation Strategy, while supporting the continued development of self-service BI, data governance and reporting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Data & Insights team, providing clear objectives, regular 1-to-1s, feedback and professional development.
  • Own team workload planning, prioritisation and capacity management, ensuring resources are aligned to business priorities.
  • Establish effective team ways of working, including planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and continuous improvement practices.
  • Support the development and delivery of the organisation's Data & Digitalisation Strategy.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement to ensure the data strategy reflects business requirements, industry developments and wider organisational priorities.
  • Oversee the development and ongoing improvement of the organisation's data portal and associated data services.
  • Translate stakeholder demand into clear roadmaps, priorities and delivery plans.
  • Allocate work across Data Analysts and Reporting Analysts according to skills, capacity and business priorities.
  • Monitor delivery performance, service quality, throughput and agreed SLAs, proactively resolving blockers and addressing aged requests.
  • Build trusted relationships with business leaders, technology teams and operational stakeholders.
  • Communicate data-driven insights, progress and business value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Promote data quality, master data management, governance and compliant data handling across the organisation.
  • Drive the adoption of self-service analytics and reduce reliance on ad-hoc reporting through curated datasets and governed reporting models.
  • Support GDPR and data protection activities, working closely with relevant data protection stakeholders.
  • Engage with external partners, industry bodies and regulators where appropriate on data quality, open data and shared standards.
  • Develop individual Professional Development Plans and support the ongoing growth of team capability.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience leading Data, Analytics, BI or Reporting teams, with a strong track record of coaching and developing colleagues.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence senior business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing competing priorities, workload planning and delivery within a changing environment.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise BI, reporting and data platforms.
  • Experience with technologies such as Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform, SAP BW, SAP Analytics Cloud or SAP Datasphere would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of self-service analytics, governed semantic models and scalable reporting practices.
  • Working knowledge of data governance, master data management and data quality principles.
  • Experience developing or contributing to data, analytics or digital strategies.
  • Ability to translate complex data and technology concepts into clear business outcomes.
  • Strong data storytelling and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with open/shared data principles and geospatial data would be beneficial.
  • Understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements.
  • Awareness of relevant industry, regulatory and data best-practice guidance.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and platforms quickly, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
